Another beautiful day

As you can see, it's another beautiful day in Michigan.
We have had quite a few in a row and lots of good walking
weather. I'm still reflecting on 9-11 and the many, many
lives that were changed that day. It's interesting to read
how some people make life-altering decisions as an outcome
of that day and where they are now from those decisions.

Back to the Streets

I stopped this blog because it didn't feel right and I guess that I didn't do enough
to talk about.  Today is the 10th anniversary of 9-11 and the United States is
in a reflective mood, to say the least.  My walking shoes took me 9 miles today,
on dirt roads, on a nature trail, with a friend, without a friend and it was amazing.
I live in Michigan and there is nothing like Autumn in Michigan.  Everything is
about to change colors and the air is fresh and fine.  I'm glad to resurrect this
blog and will make it the most interesting you have ever read.  See you soon!!!

Walking in Flint

Mary's walking shoes went to the streets of Flint Michigan today.
There was an older women standing on a corner with a cardboard
sign and a crutch.  We were trying to read the sign, but she quickly
dropped it.  We looked back to see a car with lights on top (could
be mistaken for a police car) drive by her.  When she realized it
wasn't the police, she picked up the sign and walked (without
the help of the crutch) over to another person leaning up against
the liquor store.  What a scam she was trying to pull  - I never
did get to read the sign but I guess I don't care what it says.

Ouch!!

Today I went to my downstairs closet to
attempt to find a suitcase that hasn't been used in a long time.
I opened the door to the closet that holds all of the Christmas
stuff.  While trying to see the suitcase (I'm pretty lazy and
wouldn't want to waste time moving anything out of the way)
I stepped on something sharp - it was the metal piece that
goes into the top of a Christmas ornament - it stuck in my
foot sideways and I had to pull it out.  The air turned blue
as I remembered curse words from when I worked with
professional truck drivers.  I wished that I had worn my
Walking Shoes to that closet!!

p.s. Found the suitcase in a closet about three feet from
my bed - I think I heard it snicker at me!!
